Caprice Bistro

Accidentally stumbled into this restaurant looking for a bar to sit at, were pleasantly surprised at the door when we were greated with such warmth. It is an upscale establishment, but treated us great even though we were in causal clothing. Bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and patrons were great too.

At first glance, it doesnt seem like much but the food here is AMAZING! The seating area upstairs has a much better atmosphere than downstairs and impressively beautiful portrait paintings cover the walls. Service was good once the waiter chummed up to us and even made us extra blue cheese filled olives with our martinis. All in all a great experience and highly recommend!!

We went there to celebrate my birthday with the bartender's special chocolate martini. It was wonderful.

My wife and I both ordered cider bone-in pork chops with brandy sauce. It was plate-licking good! We followed this up with profiteroles for dessert, which was a perfect finish. Tables are somewhat close and it can be a bit noisy, but its all part of a wonderful experience.

Amazing food. You could easily spend a lot more for lower quality at other places.

Wonderful eclectic menu, great service, wonderful mixed drinks and tasty table wine. They have distinct and thoughtfully prepared specials. They have dishes you likely won't find anywhere nearby, and certainly not of this quality. I had the rabbit, the French onion soup, and the crepe - all of them were excellent. Plus they have a great atmosphere. Or go upstairs for the bar and tapas. If there's one place in Wilmington to try, it's this restaurant.

Truly a special and fantastic experience, I've had meals that were twice as as expensive and half as good. From start to finish everything was just exceptional. Jessica was a wonderful server, great to hang out with and I would love to have her again as our waitress.

This is the perfect spot for date night or a cozy family dinner. Definitely the only authentic French food I've had in Wilmington. It's also super reasonably priced, which always shocks me. We've always made reservations but never seemed to need them, although this could be because we eat late at night.

Awesome atmosphere. Do NOT neglect going upstairs to have a martini and lounge on their sleek couches. Everyone’s food was great but my trout lacked a little spice. And the fries were just overdone. Besides that everything was great, appetizers, and desert. And the waiter that I had was very kind. I made a off hand comment about how I love fries and he was generous enough to give me a surprise complimentary serving of them.:)Happy Husband section; He was very much satisfied with his meal and did not want to leave. This happy husband wanted to order 3 cremè brûlée’s!

A varied menu, excellent service, and reasonable prices. I had an excellent lamb shank, my wife enjoyed her trout, and our soup and salad appetizers we're both very good. Caprice Bistro is definitely worth a try if you're in the area

We're locals and this is one of our favorite spots. The ground floor dining room is very French. The upstairs bar has comfortable sofas and good quiet jazz. A bit pricey but hey it's right in the middle of the tourist district.

Always a memorable meal at Caprice. Chef makes excellent food. Tonight's rabbit sausage appetizer brought back memories of my grandmothers cooking. The beef short rib melted in my mouth.

Absolutely wonderful! Service was great. Food came out quickly and was PERFECT. Our server (Roca) was very knowledgeable and answered all questions I had about menu items. Very traditional so if you want the real French dining experience you'll find it here. Presentation was impeccable. Bathrooms were spotless. Thank you so much for the lovely evening.

So delicious! My husband and I just had the best meal. We're going to try to eat our way through the menu. From the the waterzoi to the profiteroles, it was perfection!!!

If you want French onion soup....Don't come to this place..Worst French onion soup I have ever had. They make it with.. chicken soup.. and it is greasy...The waiter said that is how classic French onion soup is made. I showed him the recipe for classic French onion soup. It calls for beef broth. The greeting staff needs improvement as well.

Wonderful place for a nicer meal. Location is perfect- right on market street and a step away from the water. The drinks here are delicious. The entrees are creative and tasty. The atmosphere is cozy but upscale. The upstairs area is nicely decorated with cool art, comfortable seating, and a nice bar. The staff is always professional and friendly. Dessert is to die for as well! This is a perfect date spot! It’s a pricey restaurant but totally worth it if you’re looking for a nice experience.

As always, dinner at Caprice was outstanding. My absolute favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Staff is efficient without being obtrusive. And finish it all off with the Floating Island, double expresso and a B&B...... simply the best!

Great service. Poor atmosphere for an intimate dinner. Very noisy and claustrophobic feeling due to closeness of tables. Guys next to me may as well used a bull horn he was so loud. We could not carry on a normal conversation due to the noise level. Expected a table cloth, instead we got a folded cloth napkin to eat off of. Good was ok. Lobster bisque too salty. My wife thought that her flounder was tasty. My waterzooi was so creamy rich that it was like soup with pieces of fish and shrimp thrown in. Overall, not a good experience. Sad because the reviews that I read were terrific. I chose the place for a great birthday dinner for my wife. We left most disappointed ☹️

Me and my fiancé just went tonight for the first time. Something different! Sucha neat spot. Will definitely be back

What a meal!!! Easily the best meal I have had in quite a while...the swordfish was out of this world...had some my wifes trout and it was just as good...this place should be packed everyday....found my favorite restaurant in Wilmington!
